The Chippewa PTA- Here For YOUR Children
The PTA is here to support every student at Chippewa.
We welcome ALL parents, teachers, staff and local business leaders to be a part of YOUR PTA. Many people ask...what exactly does a PTA do? Why do I need to be involved?
Some of the answers might surprise you:
Did you know that the Chippewa PTA gives more than $10,000 a year to help sponsor and co-fund field trips and cultural arts events? Many people are shocked to see that figure. To help you see the direct impact to your family you will begin to see the PTA contributions highlighted on trip and cultural art event forms.
The PTA provides families with free and lower-cost activities such as Zingo, The Fall Festival and Outdoor Family Movie Night.
The PTA organizes fun, educational in-school activities for the children such as The Brain Show and the Singing Bus Driver. Many of these activities would not be possible if not for the PTA's sponsorship. We all know that reading helps children build self confidence and achieve their goals. The PTA works in conjunction with teachers for Parents As Reading Partner Week (PARP), a national program, to help encourage all students to be active readers through a week long celebration featuring in-school and after-hour activities and prizes.
The PTA organizes the Chippewa's Got Talent Show and Parent/Child Activities.
At monthly meetings the PTA organizes speakers to help parents learn about community and school programs such as Megan's Law, the Library Homework Helper program and more. In addition you can hear up to date information about fund raisers, upcoming events and voice any concerns.
You know when you child gives you a gift for a holiday and cannot wait to see you open it? Well, the PTA offers children a chance to purchase low cost gift for holidays such as Mother's Day and Father's Day. And there is so much more....why not join us for a meeting? See for yourself just how important the PTA is for your school and how you can be an active member, even if you work full-time or have younger children.
